Darlington Heights Supper Raises Funds For Playground Darlington Heights School League sponsored a fried chicken supper at the school Friday night. A nice profit, to be used for playground equipment, was realized. Miss Terrell Harvey and Mrs. ' Margaret Watson attended the fo rensic meet at Randolph-Henry High School Friday. Four one act ’ plays were presented by the schools of Greenville, Victoria, Blue Stone and Randolph-Henry. All four plays received a distinguished rating from the judge and will compete in the state forensic meet in Charlottesville next week Brett Watson was a member of the Randolph - Henry cast. Miss Elizabeth Singleton enter tained Darlington Heights Bridge .club with a dinner party last Thurs ; c’.ay. In addition to the regular members, guests were Mesdames Tom Dillon. Robert Harris. Ruth Sanderson and Ruth Harris. Mrs. Margaret Watson. Mrs. Les lie Hamilton and Mrs. H. I. Shorter spent Wednesday in Richmond, where Mrs. Shorter visited Mr. and Mrs. Guthrie Maloney. Others who visited the Maloneys the same day were Mrs. Robert Maloney, Miss Virginia Maloney and Mrs. J. T. Baker. Mr. and MiN Gerald Phelps, of.. High Point. N. C.. and Mr. and Mrs. Bdly Johnson, and family, of Farinville. wer, week end guests of Mrs. J T. Baker. Howard Shorter is convalescing from a major operation at Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg. Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel Scruggs announce the birth of a daughter, Me-ch 18 at Virginia Baptist Hos pital. Mrs Lee H. Dressier, of Coving ton is the expected guest of the Watson family this week end. Mrs. Dressier will attend Longwood Col lege Founders day. Mrs. Cash Buried The funeral of Mrs. L. K. Cash was held at Spring Creek church Tuesday afternoon. Her son. Lay man. of the U. S Army, was able to fly home from Korea in time for the funeral. Mr and Mrs. Harry Puckett, of Burlington. N. C., spent Sunday with the E. A. Paynes. Mrs. Bill Blank, and daughter, Linda, spent Monday with Mrs. C. I. Harvey.
