Athletic Federation For College Women To Meet at Longwood Representatives fro m approxi mately twenty-four colleges will visit Longwood March 2y-30 to at tend the annual conference of the Virginia Athletic Federation of Col lege Women. Registration for delegates will be held on Friday afternoon, and the group will attend the Longwood Players' production "The Crucible", Friday night. The group, which will be staying at Longwood House during their visit, will' center their thoughts around the theme, “On-the-Campus Recreation." Saturday morning the delegates will hear Miss Cynthia Mendenhall, Recreational Super visor. East Carolina College. Green ville. North Carolina. Following this will be a banquet at Longwood House. Three Longwood students are among the state officers of the Vir ginia Athletic Federation of College Women. Annie V. Weaver is the Conference President, while Jeannie Vestal and Jeanette Puckett serve as Treasurer and Corresponding Sec retary respectively. Powhatan Auxiliary Elects Mrs, Davis As First President Mrs. Clara Davis was elected president of the ladies auxiliary of the Powhatan County volun teer fire department, organized at a meeting in the Fire House March 19. Other officers elected were Mrs. Julia Anderson, vice-president: Mrs. Ann Timberlake. secretary: ■ Mrs. Frances Urbine. treasurer, and Mrs. Cecelia Snider, histor ian. A committee was appointed to ; draft the constitution and by laws. Mrs. Rachael Elam was i named chairman, with Mrs. Lucy Ann Bowles and Mrs. Arcell Col ; Her. The next meeting will be held April 30. at 8 p. m. in the fire house. This is also the date set for the close of charter members. There are already about 30 mem bers.
