Increased competition with comparatively new broiler producing areas is in prospect for Virginia broiler growers in 1962.

D. U. Livermore, poultry marketing specialist at V.P.I., says this means Virginia will have to give more attention to quality, size and selection of the time of marketing.

Percentage increases in the new areas may exceed those in Virginia, but continued expansion in Virginia seems justified within the limits of the management capacity of the individual growers, he believes.

Increased production of small turkeys, with relatively favorable prices, also is foreseen. Virginia
