Don’t fail to hear the capitol city choral ensemble in a recital Sunday December 16, at 3 p.m.—
This Ensemble of (91) ninety one voices is composed of a group of church people from various churches of Washington, D. C. who will sing Negro Spirituals, Folk Songs, Hymns and etc. If you have a request number you’d like to hear, please, send it in. Address: Capitol City Choral Ensemble, C/o P.O. Since our church will not accommidate this occasion, and there is no auditorium in or at any of the Negro schools of Rappahannock County, our generous and democratic school board which is second to none in the state has granted us *he prhelage of using the Rappahannock County High, School auditorium for this singing occasion. And too, we have many white friends who appreciate this of singing and we want them to hear it. Tickets are on sale now. Adults$1.00. Children under 15 $.50. Proceeds will go to the First Baptist Church.
Huntly church showered their Pastor Elder S. William Timbers with a pound panty in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Julus of Hume. Sister Rosa Jett sponsored the party. There was a large gathering and many pounds and gifts were received which was greatly appreciated- with many thanks.
Choir Rehearsal will be at the school Thursday, December 13 at 7:30 p.m.
Miss Betty Jackson of Madison was an over night guest of Miss Mary Turner on Tuesday.
Jack Freeman spent a few days in 'Florida.
