£*ars are medium-long withsmooth-dented kernels. Plant and ear heights have measured about the same as for U.S. 13. It is recommended for general planting west of the Blue Ridge, for elevations 2,500 feet or less or similar climate conditions, and in northern Piedmont. Although it is not eligible for the recommended list in southern and eastern Virginia, having been tested there only one year, it should be tried where hybirds of U.S. 13 maturity are wanted, Dr. Genter says.
Seed of the hybirds have been grown for the Experiment Station by Seed Stocks, Inc., Sandston, and will be. distributed through - the seed trade and com hybird seed producers of the Crop Improvement Association. Single crosses to produce the hybirds are available through Seed Stocks, Inc. and may be obained by seed growers in 1952.
