Engagement Announced
Mrs. Helen B. Bruce announces the engagement of her daughter, Elma Davis, to A. L. (Buddy)
Mias Bruce is a graduae of Sperryville High (School and ilso attended Strayers Business College of Washington, D. C. She is now employed by the Department of Defense.
Buddy Smith is a graduate of Haymaricet High School and is now employed by the Chespe&ke and Potomac Telephone Company of Fairfax.
No date has been set for the wedding.

Sees Busy Season
Workers at Sperryville Locker Plant have kept in a mediumsized sweat here lately, despite (the low temperatures in which they iwork. They’ve had to keep in a dog-trot to get all the woric done.
At one time during the first two weeks of the year there were 40 quarters of beef on hand for processing for home use. During the hog-killing season of the late fall and up to Christmas, 36,000 pounds of pork were processed.
All the lockers at the Sperryville plant are not locally rented, for the excellent reputaton of Wilson Woodard in processing of food has spread until some of the lockers are now rented by neighboring city-dwellers.

The W.S.C.S. of the Washington Methodist Church met with Mrs. Jack Petty and Mrs. Kate Petty on Thursday, January 17. The program was conducted by Mrs. Jessie Rowzie, Mrs. Mabel Racer, Miss Corrie Scroggins and Mrs. Virginia Estes. After the meeting, refreshments were served by the hostesses.
