A CIVILIAN DEFENSE MEETING will be held at 7:80 Wednesday, January 30 in the Washington Court! House. All persons .who have contacted by Observation Post Supervisors of Sperryville, Huntly, Washington, or Amissville are urged to be present. Supervisors of these post are John Wayland, who replaces J. B. Atkins, Aubrey North, Marion Watts and Mrs. Mitchell Green. This the second of a series of quarterly training meetings held by the office of Civilian Defense. According to Captain Miller and Major Briggs of the state office a movie “Eyes Aloft” will be shown and covers attention of the Ground Observer Corps. Also a replica of a filter center showing observation post and how they and the filter center function will be displayed. Each of these observation posts will need twenty-five trained observers, a chief observer and the post supervisors. This calls for a total of 104 patriotic volunteers. At the last county meeting only three persons were present which is disgraceful. Let’s have a good turn out for this meeting. . . come whether you be an observer or not.
