Now the time has come when we can’t afford to lose any more. The population of the country is growing so rapidly that we shall have with us well over 200,000,009 hungry* people in less than 30 years. It is high time that we greatly speed up the work of rebuilding the one asset without which we cannot exist as a nation—good soil.
In soil conservation districts, legal, responsible, self-governing subdivisions of the states, you have found hour to get the job done speedily, efficiently, and in the American way.
