BelleMeade food preparation group met at the home of Holly Updike’s Monday afternoon. The girls making cookies, cooked cabbage and made punch and served them to the group as refreshments.
Make and Remake 4-H group met at the Firehouse Tuesday. Mrs. Clara Woodard, leader, helped the girls to cut their dresses and also in the making. Each girl received suffeient instruction to inahle her to finish her own dress at home.
Canning 4-H group met with Mrs. Herman„ Williams, leader, Wednesday morning. Demonstration on freezing of vegetables and canning by means of hot water bath was given. The girls canned and froze green beans.
Flint Hill H.D. group met at the home of Mrs. Frank Cary’s on Tuesday evening. As part of the business the club planned their picnic in AugCSee

Interested In Farm Tour

Local Four-State Farmers’ Committee members and County Agent W. H. Lyne have. arranged the program of he 1952 Four-State Farm Tour, being held Friday, August 8. at the Middleburg Branch of VPI’s Experimental Station. They believe all of the Tour features will be of great interest and value to dairy and beef farmers of this area.
Among the local men_ active in planning the ‘52 Farm Tour were: C. C. Zinn of Washington and Maurice O’Bannon of Woodville.
The '52 Tour will be held at Middleburg, about *30 miles southeast of Winchester, on U- S. Route 50. Here, a series of tests are being conducted covering a wide range of grasses and methods of the applications of fertilizers. These tests are just beginning to show results.
Middleburg Station tests include grass mixtures for the grazing of ■Loth beef and dairy cattle mixtures for the making of hay and silage, and some for all three—grazing, hay and
