In addition, tests are l>eing made as to the use of fertilizers with the grasses. Various mixtures of fertilizers, the amount used per acre, the times and methods of application, are being tested. Tests are also being made to show how well different grasses are liked by the animals and how this may effect their production of milk or beef. According to Herman Stockslager, president of the Four-State Farmers’ Committee, many of he varieties of grasses being tested at Middieburg are common on local * grass farms. The results being shown in these tests may bring higher beef and milk productivity to farmers in this region and all are urged to get first-hand information at Middleburg on August 8, the day of the 1952 Four-State Farm Tour.
