Fire Company Answers Call
From Flint Hill
The Washington Fire Company answered a call around 6 a.m. Wednesday from Flint Hill. Upon arrival they found that the shop of Jim Li!lard was too far gone Jo be saved. Mr. Lillard stated that he couldn’t determine the orgin of the fire. Wood Bros, and Mrs. Rust’s trucks were also there to give a helping hand.
The estimated damage was estimated. around $7,000. The building, tools and other equipment were destroyed besides some yaluable seasoned wood such as walnut, * cherry, pine, etc. were burned. 1

The W.S.C.S. of the Washngton Methodist Church met in the*home of Mrs. Paul “Walker, Thursday evening July 17 with 15 members present. Miss .Frances Walker opened the meeting with a piano solo. Mrs. Walker led in devotional. Mrs. Jack Woodward conducted the business session, which was fallowed by a most interesting roundtable discussion Led by Mrs. Mabel Racer on the subject “Earth’s Abundance and Man's Stewardship. The purpose of the program was to arouse Christains to their responsibilities to make the Point Four Program, not only technical assistance but alsto christain assistance. After the adjournment, a social hour was enjoyed.
RAPFK GARDEN MEETING The Rappahannock Garden Club will meet Wednesday, July 30, at 2 p.m. n he home of Mrs. D. B. Smith. Workshop on arrangement has been planned with outside consultants. It is hoped thart all members will be present for this meeting.
