One Republican voter accused Mrs, Dorothy C. Davis, mayor of Washington, of being responsible for making the county go Republican, This was a little difficult to understand, since Mrs. Davis was an active worker as vice-chairman of the county Democratic campaign committee; most of her (work was done in her own town where she.is mayor; and that town showed a Democratic majority. The accusation was slightly confusing.
The election was hot—there’s no doubt of it—but the days after seem to have calmed down more quickly than some observers predicted.

The Culpeper Soil Conservation District makes fish for stocking the ponds available to cooperating farmers, who have constructed their ponds according to approved engineering * specifications. Ponds are stocked with large mouth Black Bass and Blue Gills on the basis of 1000 Blue Gills to 100 Bass per acre of surface water.
The Rotary Club of Culpeper took advantage of the facilities provided by three ponds in the county last week when they sponsored the fishing contest for the “small fry.” When these little fellows really get the “fishin’ bug,” more farm ponds will be desired;
