To Be Discussed
Control of cockroaches, rats, and other pests will he discussed at the annual pest control operator’s short course at VPI,-November 12,13, and 14,
Dr. J. O. Rowell, entomologist at VPI and general chairman of the short course, says pest control operators and professional workers from Virginia and several other states are expected to attend.
Speakers Wednesday. November 12, will include: Dr. J. R. Hutcheson, chancellor, VPI; Orvis B. Griggs, Richmand, president of the Virginia State Pest Control Association; and Walter W. Dykstra and John C. Jones, U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Washington, D. C. A meeting of the Association is scheduled for Wednesday night. '
Thursday’s speakers will include: T. L. Bissell, entomologist, University of Maryland; Dr. J. M. Grayson, associate entomologist, VPI; L. W. Saylor, entomologist, State Department of Health, Norfolk; J. M. Amos, associate entomologist, VPI; and R. M. Russell, Atlanta, Ga.
W. E. Roll, Washington, vice president of the association, and R. A. St. George, division of forest insect investigations, USD A, Beltsville, Maryland, are scheduled to speak Friday.
The group also will have an opportunity to take part in laboratory practice, and to see a demonstration of pest control equipment.
