Looking to the Future
“It’s time for a change” is now a reality, with the Republican presidential nominee sweeping into office on a large victory.
The nation has stood through some rough going, always avowing that the most people will be more nearly right most of the time. That principle of majority rule has proved correct more times than incorrect, and we, as Americans, face the future confidently, knowing that we have made our choice and nolw we shall work to see that qjir choice proves right.
The President-Elect needs the prayers of the entire nation. It’s a big job he has agreed to take on; he knows it, and every citizen in the country knows it. Within the heart of 158,000,000 Americans, there is probably not one man who would gladly change places with him today. The responsibilities shock us, but the future president can rest assured that every American will give him support and encouragement for his task as chief executive.
As any vote will show inJ any election, there are always those of the minority who did not agree with iwhat proved to be the majoriy. The minority is not always wrong and the majority always right; nor is the reverse true.
The future is good, mainly because Americans know that their country is good. Every political election may not please everyone, but the nation is for the good of all, and with that goal we all work together. *
Letter To Editor
Halloween has always been a time of pranks and fun, but when there is destruction of property, farm gates removed and dragged or hauled away, letting people’s cattle out, it seems that fun has gotten out of bounds and borders on lawlessness.
If the prankers who removed two of my gates on my farm near Amissville would return them or let me know where they left them, I should greatly appreciate it
I did find one of them which had been dragged a quarter of a mile and left in the middle of the road but have no idea where the other one is,
