Ladies Auxiliary Meeting

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Rappahannock Fire Company held its regular meeting, Monday, at 6:30 p.m. with nine members present. Acting president, Mrs. B. R. Cox, pre^ sided and opened the meeting with a prayer for peace. The committee served a pancake supper with country sausage, syrup ‘and coffee. High lights of the meetng were plans for making money, election of officers and prizes for Christmas decorations in town.

A dance to be given at the high school December 26 and patching a pair of overalls with a piece of money by the men, in Hampton District were decided upon for finances. The committees appointed for the dance were Mrs. B. R. Cox and Miss Ruth Stevens at the door and the food and drinks committee consisted of Mrs. Elizabeth H. DeBergh, Mrs. Wade Pullen, Mrs. R. L. Massie and Mrs. D. D. Miller. Mrs. D. D. Miller was appointed to start the overalls rolling for patches, immedately if any of you men are overlooked, please notify one of the members of the Auxiliary. The ladies patched aprons last year and it was not only fun but added a considerable amount to the treasurer.

Resignations of our president, Mrs. Wade H. Massie Jr. and Secretary, Miss Ruby Jenkins were accepted with regrets as they both have made good officers and the fire company appreciates their splendid work. Mrs. Cox appointed agnominating committee consisting dt Mrs. Wade Pullen, Miss Alice Mae Coughlin and Mrs. Charles Bruce. After a recess the following names were submitted and elected: President, Mrs. Elizabeth H. DeBergh; Vice President, Mrs. B. R. Cox; Treasurer, Miss Ruth Stevens and Secretary, Mrs. D. D. Miller.

Decoratons for Christmas would be given as in the past with one change, that is the three prizes will be awarded for the best outside Christmas decoration and not just for the door. The judges will consist of three out of town lades in Hampton District, who will judge the decorations not later than December 26. -—r-——- ——*
