This one that the little fellow cast in imagination for his grandfather was a vote straight from the heart, with no party labels, no loyalties due and expressed, no anti-sentiments nor bitterness. IHis was a vote of pure love, and he picked a candidate he knew was 100% light!
The bther election story is a sad one. A little girl had listened for weeks to all the election talk. She believed every word of it. She knew that if her daddy’s candidate were defeated, everyone would be in the poor-house the fol1 Owing day; all the soldier-boys would be killed immediately; and no end of terrible events would befall the nation.
The sad “next morning” arrived, and she learned that daddy’s candidate had been dfeated. Crestfallen, she disappeared upstairs. They found her some hours later, up in the attic, sobbing as if her heart would break. She thought all campaign talk would now materialize !
It took some minutes to convince the little girl that campaign talk had always been that way, and that, despite the wild talk, the country has withstood most promised calamities and this time, also, the nation would continue to roll on—probably with little real change.
