Christmas season. Members of all of the churches particpated, and much talent was displayed.
Miss Kate Holland and Miss Sallie Lillfcrd gave unstintingly of their time and talent in training the children of the community for the event, and it is safe to say that everyone that could possibly go, went. and left rewarded.
Miss Kate and Miss Sallie received the cooperation of practically everyone..especially their brothers, Jimmy and Boley, respectively.
Jimmie, who was employed by Uliman Brothers in Warrenton, Va., was a talented builder, and constructed a huge chimney at the back of the stage, which featured a wide fire place. Boley, who was equal to most any role as an actor, idled out of the fire place as Santa Claus with a huge pack on his back. After gifts from his pack were distributed, Santa and his faithful helper (Jimmie) proceeded to take down the chimney, which was made of bricks.
Each brick was a box of candy— and every child and every grownup got one. There were “bricks” left over to send to those unfortunate enough not to be there.
