Ashby J. Atkins
Ashby Jackson Atkins, a retired farmer of Rappahannock, died at the home of his daughter Mrs. Ellis Atkins at Linden, Virginia, Wednesday, December 14. He was 93 years of age, the husband of the late Treba Atkins and a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Atkins of Rappahanpock County.
Surviving Mr. Atkins are six sons, Elmfr J. and Isaac N. Atkins of Flint Hill, Burnam Atkins, Washington, Va., Levi J. Atkins, Amissville, and Roy R. and Joseph H. Atkips of Sperryville; six daughters,! Mrs. Frank L. Atkins, Sperryvilltj, Mrs. Ellis C. Atkins, and Mrs. John A. Atkins, Linden, Mrs. Jonas R. Jenkins, Washington. Va. and Mrs. IHfcncil Dodson of Sperryville; one brother, Jeremiah Atkins, Amissville; one sister, Mrs. Sam Shipp of Midland; forty-severi grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday at 1:30 p.m. from Sperryville Baptist Church with Rev. H. E. Nicholson Conducting the rites. Interment was in Washington Ma
