Rev. Carr To Be
Ordained Saturday
The Rev. Dabney Jr Carr, who has been deacon-in-charge of Bfbmfield Parish, Rappahannock County since last July, will be ordained priest on Saturday, May 27 by the Rt. Rev. Samuel B. Chilton, Suffragan Bishop of Virginia. The ordination sermon will be preached by Ae Rev. Dr. Albert T. Mollegen, professor of New Testament and Christian Ethics at the Virginia Theological Seminary, Alexandria. Other clergy assisting in the service will be the Rev. Ernest A. deBordenave, Middleburg; the Rev. Joseph T. Heistand, Richmond ; the Rev. John B. Reiroheimer, Arlington; and the Rev. Nelson B. Hodgkins, Whiteville, Noith Carolina.
Dr. Mollegen is the author of the recently published Christianity And’ Modern Man. He is one of America’s foremost theologians and has been called “The American Paul Tillich.” He is widely known in rhe Anglican Communion as a lecturer. His annual lectures at the Washington Cathedral attract many of the Capitol’s government leaders, scientists and professional men and women.
The women of the church, underlie chairmanship of Mrs. C. J. Miller, will serve lunch in the Parish House following the service. .
