Now for a hot item_The member of the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors who squawked the loudest about the negligence of the sheriff in performing his duties also squawked the loudest when his hired hand was picked up, by same sheriff, for failing to have a county license tag on his car. The Supervisor immediately phoned Judge Miller and asked him to go easy on the fellow. Incidentally, the judge figured “what is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander,” and convicted all violators in like manner.

Am glad there are still a few honest people around. When I bought gas Saturday at Sperryville, I handed the station attendant what I thought was two one dollar bills and walked out. I was called back and handed a five dollar bill which was stuck in with the ones. Thanks, Mr. Atkins.
