The Belle Meade property had belonged to Mrs. Hite’s father, Mr. VV. B. Kilby before is was acquired by the school trustees in 1915 and is the only one of the school properties reverting back to the former family ownership.
An old timer looking over the crowd in the courthouse yard remarked that it reminded him of the people that used to gather 25 years ago for March court. He said he missed the farm machinery exhibit and he thought now that people compared their cars just as they used to compare the horses they had ridden to town.
