Lions Club Holds
Ladies Night
Rappahannock County Lions Club had its annual Ladies Night Wednesday, May 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the Episcopal Parish Hall.
Ladies Night usually coincides with the anniversary of the charter which they ttulve had since 1958. Host for the dinner was Irvin O. Wolf, who is this year’s president.
Present from Alexandria was Lion District Governor, Fred Pritt.
Entertainment was supplied by Magician Edwin Smith of Luray. His feats of magic were enjoyed by all.
The ladies of the Washington Methodist Church catered and tastefully decorated for the affair. Mrs. Wallace Critzer was in charge of the food arrangements.
Two Killed By Train
Yesterday at 2 o’clock two peot pie were killed by a train at Karo ! near Limeton, Va. Mildred Williams, age 18, and 21 year old Robert Pomeroy, both of Front Royal were killed instantly when a 57 car freight, pulled with four engines rounded a bend as they were sitting on the railroad trestle. Also with them were two other people who jumped to safety.
