Va. Angus Meeting
More than 200 members and other Angus enthusiasts attended the recent annual meeting of the Virginia Angus Association in Charlottesville.
Elected president of the state-wide group for 1963 was J. Carlton Clore, owner of Zeuswyn Farm at Culpeper. Lee D. Butler of Kinloch Farm Supply, was elected vice-president, and G. Dayton Hodges, Arbor Hill Farm Staunton, was reelected treasurer.Secretary fieldman of the association is William D. Powell of Char lottesville. The following were elected to serve on the board of the directors: C. E. Johnson, Jr. Sperryville; Sam Spangler, Fredericksburg; Paul E, Bird, Wytheville; Maj. Robert L. Dulaney, Purcellville; Ray A. Graham, Jr., Shadwell; and Roger Meador, Dabneys. Other board members include Julian Adams, Lynchburg; T. D. Steele, Catawba; J. W. Blackburn, Kenbridge; and Adm. -Lewis L* Strauss, Brandy Station. At the Virginia Angus Women’s Auxiliary meeting Mrs. Sidney L. Shannon, Jr., of Fredericksburg, was named president for 1963. Mrs. J. W. Blackburn was elected vice-president, and Mrs. George Fry, Shadwell, is secretary-treasurer.
