The “excess” will be twice the normal yield per acre times the number of acres in excess of the farm allotment; if the proven actual yield is lower, the ASC county committee may reduce the excess to the actual yield. (These provisions are similar to those in effect for 1962-crop wheat.) 2. A land-use penalty can apply if an unauthorized crop is produced on the acreage required to be diverted from the production of wheat, up to a maxium (,1.11 percent of the 1964 allotment. The penalty will be 65 percent of May 1 parity times the farm normal yield for unauthorized use of acreage which should have been diverted.
The Chairman explained that a producer who grows j wheat within his 1964 wheat allotment and meets the di- ! verted acreage requirement but fails to meet the normal conserving acreage proj visions will'not incur a landuse penalty. However, bis I eligibility for diversion ply- I ments, price support, and marketing certificates would depend on his meeting all three program provisions. The referendum will be held May 21, 1963 in the Board Room of the Rappahannock National Bank from 8:00 A. M. to 6:00 P.M. Be sure to vote.
