Recent inspections of alfalfa fields in all sections of the county revealed all infested with alfalfa weevil. For some Unknown reason applications of heptachlor made last November did not result in satisfactory control. The situation exists state-wide.

An occasional field of alfalfa was found not to have sufficient weevil infestation to justify ! spraying- as experts in controlling this pest advise awaiting until a majority of the plants show damage in the terminal growth.
