Rappahannock Races
A record crowd of well over 2000 enjoyed the best filled races ever run by the Rappahannock Point-to- Point. March 7 was a mild sunny day, ideal for the Races, and the first race day in memory when fog, sleet, rain and or hail didn't dominate the weather. All seven horse races were full. In the Quarter Horse Race and in the Junior Race on tne flat, there were so many entries that those two events had to be run in two heats. Archibald Kingsley on Lenoso won the Ben Venue race and obtained another grip on the Seven Corners trophy for the point-to-point season, He had taken the Casanova Cup the past Saturday for his first, seven points toward this goal. Miss Kathy Kusner took the ladies race, the Mount Salem, with ease in a field of ten. She was riding M rs. A. C. Randolph's Walrus. Other results follow: Pair Race: First- Col. Albert P.
