Clerk of the Court E. M. Jones was authorized to prepare the County Budget with J. N. Miller, W. C. Campbell and the County Officers on the Committee. There was general agreement to Henry Wood’s suggestion that the budget should include a raise of $100 per year for members of the board from $300 to $400 except by Herbert Foster who felt that members should set an example by trying to keep rising costs down. Sheriff Estes made a request that paint for the jail be included in the budget and he was authorized to find the costs through estimates or bids. The necessary amendments to the subdivision ordinance were passed to comply with the new act of the general assembly in regard to special meetings, and under the new regulation the next special meeting would be on March 20.

Set Carnival Dates
Sperryville Fire Dept, has scheduled its annual carnival for four days in Julyf Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, July 15, 16, 17 and 18. The carnival will be held on the regular carnival grounds 'there. The grand prize which will be given away at the close of the carnival is a 1964 Ford andwas purchased from Merrill Motor Co. in Washington, Va. Many other prizes will also be awarded and each night there will J>e Hifei, game, and pretty ^ good food.
