Fifteen owners started forty hounds in the final event of the F.appahannock Hunt's Pointto-Point Races.
Upon being released at the s tart a majority of the hounds took off in'the wrong direction probably due to poor scenting conditions. Fortunately when crossing the drag, at the wo oded edge of Mason Mountain-one hound appeared to catch the scent and the pack was off in full cry. At the finish Judges picked the hounds as follows: 1st#23, ‘ “Brag’' owned by Woodrow Coughlin ofCastleton, 2nd #61 “Rena* owned by Melvin Poe of Hume, 3rd-#19 “Joe* owned by Richard W. Burke of Woodville, 4th-# 11 “Lulu* owned by Jimmy Gibbs of Pratts, 5th-#35 *Mike" owned by Che ster Wayland also of WoodviJle. Cash prizes made up from funds donated by the Rappahannock Hunt plus entry fees were awarded the winners.
