The Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors held its regular March meeting on Wect nesday the 4th with Henry .Wood presiding in the absence of the chairman, J. N. Miller, all other members; were present.
Mr. David Butler, State Highway Engineer met with the board and after discussing routine matters in the road system explained the policy adopted in regard to the 1 and 1/2 million dollars recently made ^available for Industrial Access Roads whe re needed throughout the state over and above the regular allocations. Mr. Herbert Foster suggested that the County request that the Harris Hollow Road to the Ski Area and the road to Rappahannock Manufac turing Plant be considered in allocation of the industrial access funds. Mr. Butler volunteered to look into the situation and report to the board at the next meeting. Mr. Butler v/ould also make recommendations as to cost and advisability to the State Highway Department. Mr. W. Kuncewicz of the Kennels near Flint Hill made an appeal to the Board to do everything possible to speed up zoning in the county and offered his aid in any way possible. He stated that f rom past experience in other communities, uncontrolled zon ing causes exorbitant later oxpenses to original reside nts or the ruination of the community. He further pointed out that variations from the original plans often defeated the whole purpose and that zoning required constant care and attention. The board told him that the proper ordinances were being prepared in Rich - mond and that the whole county would be zoned as an agriculture community with exceptions allowed only by permit.
