nera testing. Be sure you teu the livestock market, or slaughter house, you wish to participate in the Market Cattle Testing Program and to be sure and "back tag* each cow you deliver. A report of the results of her carcass inspection for TB and Brucellosis will be sent to the State Vet's office. All nega tive carcasses will be credited toward establishing the owner's herd health status. Thepretlcally there is a con* plete turn-over of breeding animals in a herd every ten years. In otherwords an owner will lose by natural causes or cull a combined total of 10% of his cows annually. Thus it shouldn’t be too difficult to qualify under the *5%- 18 month plan. On or about August 1 of each year, the State Veterinarian's office will furnish each sale committee or each county agent a list of all herds in the area, or county, that have participated in the Market Cattle Testingpiro.gram and the number of animals that have been tested from each herd. Also at this time a list of all owners that have completed herd tests will, be furnished. Those herds which do not qualify at this time will have sufficient time to conduct a herd test before sale time. An owner participating in the Market Cattle Testing Program must also make sure all his cattle are always sold in the same name; If one cow is sold in the name of James W. Doe, the next in the name of Jim Doe and the others in the name of "Doe's Ranch", clerks at the State Vet’s office naturally will have three files set up on the same herd. This will result in a lot of condusion. Plan 3 is a combination of 1 and 2; Those sales which can not operate entirely under either Plan 1 or Plan 2 may use a combination of these plans.
