FHA Loan Priority
Small farmers should be given priority in requests for assistance, Stuart H. Barrell, Area Supervisor for the Farmers Home Administration, told 14 of the agency's county committeemen at a meeting in Warrenton. “Credit needs of all family farmers should be served," Barrell said, “but when you are short of funds and time, handle the applications from the lowest income families first." Barrell pointed out that emergency loanswhere drought, floods and other disasters have caused a need for special credit have been a major factor in the survival of low income farm families. The Farmers Home Administration has offices in Culpeper and Front Royal to serve the northern Virginia counties.
