Rappahannock Lions Club held Its regular supper meeting July 22 at Hampton Inn at which time Mrs. Sarah Latham spoke to the group about newspapers. Mrs. Latham’s talk was both interesting and informative. It included a brief history of printing and the manufacture of paper, along with everyday problems encountered in producing a modern newspaper. It was emphasized that our county pape^ The Rappahannock News, belongs to the people of Rappahannock, and the editor and publisher appreciate our comments and help to make it better. One thing in particular that we can do is to get items of interest to the News office since in a rural area it is difficult to contact everyone. She also stressed the importance of every organization having an active reporter to report the activities of that group. All news of civic happenings is especially welcomed. It was decided that the next Lions meeting would be held atop Red Oak Mountain. A picnic supper will be served. Waynes Hayes of Amissville was presented a membership pin and inducted into the club.

Mrs. Ida Trump of Flint Hill was hostess Tuesday with a picnic for a Board Meeting of the Practical Nurses Examining Board of the District of Columbia. Also present was Mrs. Hope McIntyre, Executive Secretary. Members of the Board are Miss Lucille Kinlein, R.N., President; Mrs. Bertha Bolden, R.N., VicePresident; Misfe Dorothea Orem, R.N., Mrs. Grace Robinson, R.N., Mrs. Katherine Seward, L.P.N., Mrs.IdieRud ney, L.P.N., and Mrs. Trump, L.P.N. Mrs. Trump and Mrs. Mary Cleverly occupy the house formerly owned by Mrs. Frank Cary on Main Street. Mrs. Joel L. Jenkins has returned to her position as secretary to Edward M. Mathews of the DWVC, Dept, of Law, in Front Royal after a vacation spent at Virginia Beach, Washington, D. C. and Ocean City, Md. Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins were in Middletown Wednesday night and attended a performance of "The Moon is Blue* at the Wayside Theatre. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Robinson and son Ray of Hopkinsville* Ky. arrived Saturday for a two weeks' stay with Capt. and Mrs. J. P, Cook. Other guests for the week are Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Walker and family of Falls Church. Mrs. Thelma Russell, R. N. and Miss Ginger Russell are taking vacations this week
