I am astonished to note widespread spraying of brush control chemicals by helicopter along rural power lines in Rappahannock County. I do not profess to be a specialist in helicopter spray ing, however common sense conveys the impossibility of controlling drift when one considers the terrific blast from motor driven helicopter propellers.

My advice to property owners is that permission not be granted. Locust fence posts are scarce and valuable for farm fencing. Walnut timber is also scarce and valuable. So valuable local law enforcement officers, according to reports in the News, have had the problem of tracking down persons cutting, stealing and selling walnut logs. Also I’ve been told walnut lumber to be

Thought — Drownings appear to be occurring in Virginia almost as frequently as traffic deaths. It is estimated that traffic deaths and injuries could be cut one-third if every onewvore seatbelts at all times when driving. We wonder how many drownings from boats could have been prevented if all boaters had worn lifebelts at all times.
