their August meeting on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. at the fire hall. Their program for the month was on ‘Making Your Ironing Day Brighter*. The members of the Woodville Club met at the home of Mrs. Amos Butler on Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. “Fresh Flower Arrangements" was their program topic. The Flint Hill Home Demonstration Club will meet next week at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18. I regret that I will be attending the Extension Conference at Blacksburg, and will be unable to meet with the group.

Mrs. Oscar Dodson, Jr., accompanied her sister, Mrs. E. O. Griffin, and son, Otto, and her cousin, Mrs. Barnard Herring, all of Goldsboro, N.C., to Springfield, Mass., recently where they attended the funeral of Mrs. Dodson’s brother, Franklin Fitzsimmons, of Springfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Archer, Jr., and family have left for Europe, to be stationed in Munich, Germany, after visiting Mr. Archer’s parents.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Eaton and family of East Vassalboro, Maine, are guests of Mrs. Eaton’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stewart H. Butler of Havenhill.
Miss Ann Favorella of Alexandria was a recent week-end guest of Miss Carol Cobert and attended the wedding of Miss Sylvia Guinn of Culpeper, her former classmate at Radford College.
Guests last week-end of Mr. and Mrs. Carter White were Mrs. White’s niece and family, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Shockley of Bland.
Those from this area attending the Girl Scout Camp at the Benziger’s farm on the Rixeyville Road, Culpeper are Norma Lee Wilbur, Linda and Kathy Powers.
Wednesday morning guests of Mrs. R. W. Quaintance and Miss Elsie Ramsey were the Rev. Elwood Campbell, son of Mrs. Quaintance’s former schoolmate, who is guest speaker at the revival of the Christian Church in Hood. Other guests were Mrs. Irna Nethers and the Rev. Mr. Coffee, also of Hood.
Mr. and Mrs. Olney Kennedy, Mrs. Mary Gaines and Mrs. Hazel Barfield attended the Shiloh Baptist Association Meeting at New Salem Baptist Church on Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence B. Dorsey and son, Edward, and Edward Spencer of Culpeper drove to New Market on Sunday to visit the Shenandoah Valley Academy.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Jenkins and son of Manassas plan to move into the house on the “Miller Farm” vacated by Mr. and Mrs. Gerald I. Lemaster in June, when they moved to Washington, D.C. Richard Jenkins is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Conner Jenkins.
Mr. and Mrs. Brice Biggers returned home Thursday after visiting Mrs. Bigger’s sister, Mrs. Evelyn Holloway in Washington, D.C., and their daughter, Mrs. Pat Sabine and family in Gaithersburg. Patricia and Johnny Sabine returned to Holly Spring Farm with their grandparents to visit the rest of the week.
