Slaughter' has been running reasonably close to levels indicated by the size of lamb crop. Recently^ however, there appears to be more interest both for feeder lambs and lambs for flock replacement in Virginia. Lamb prices in Virginia last week ranged from $24.00$24.75 for prime, $22.50$23.50 for choice and $16.75$19.00 for good.
Watermelons Supplier of Virginia watermelons are plentiful, but demand is firm. Virginia has about 600 more acres in watermelons this year than in 1963—4700 acres this year compared with last year’s 4100 acres. Virginia’s crop on July 1 was estimated to be 588,000 hundred-weight--20 per cent above last year.
