Harrisonburg—Eighty candidates are scheduled to receive degrees at the 1964 summer school commencement of Madison College on August 14 at 8:00 p. m. Among the candidates to be awarded degrees is Miss Elsie Dodson of Flint Hill, Virginia, who will receive the Bachelor of Science degree in Education Miss Dodson teaches at Washington Elementary School. The Reverend Theodore George Shuey, D. D., Pastor of Pleasant View Lutheran Church of Augusta County, will deliver the commencement address, and Dr. G. Tyler Miller, Madison College President, will award 31 graduate and 49 undergraduate degrees. The 1964 summer school of Madison College is the largest in the school’s 55-year history. A combined enrollment in excess of 1275 attended the session, which opened with a twow eek graduate intersession June 15. The eight-week session opened June 22.

Washington-No change is planned at this time in the status of the Chester Gap P6st Office, Representative John O. Marsh, Jr., has been informed by the Post Office Department.
Some weeks ago postal officials indicated that they were considering either reducing the office to a rural station or serving the patrons from a rural route.
“After reviewing additional information we have determined the post office should retain its independent status at this time," A. C. Hahn, Deputy Assistant Postmaster General, wrote Marsh, who had urged retention of the post office.
