A producer can get program loan and certificate allocation benefits if he exceeds his acreage allotment by not more than 50 percent on any farm in which has an interest and stores under bond that wheat from excess acreage, meanwhile carrying out conserving use requirements of the program (not provided in 1964). Signup for 1965 voluntary wheat program is planned Aug, 24 through Oct.2 in ASCS offices. Thi6 signup will apply only to predominantly winter wheat areas. Program signup for wheat growers in predominantly spring seeded areas probably will take place early next year at same time as that for 1965 feed grain program. The 1965 feed grain program will operate under same legislative authority as in 1964 and therefore will be similar to 1964 program.The 1965 diversion requirements, payment rates, and loan levels will be determined and announced later. The 1965 program for wheat entirely voluntary. As in 1964 there will be no marketing quotas or marketing quotopenalties for 1965-crop. Further, those overplanting their acreage allotment in 1965 will not lose wheat acreage history for future years.
Program provisions offer wide range of choice including substitution between wheat and feed grain acreage. A producer may become program participant bysigningup and meeting applicable program provisions.
