Week Nov. 8-14
As a part of the activities of American Education Week three educational films' will be shown at E. Wilson Morrison Elementary, School, Front Royal, begin*' ning at 7;30 p.m., Wednesday November 11. The films are; 7:30 p.m. - SKIPPY AND THE 3 R’S - 29 minutes, in color. Shows how our schools teach the fundamentals to children just entering school. 8:00 p.m. - FREEDOM TO LEARN - 27 minutes, in color Brings out the importance of freedom t(f teach and to learn in a democracy. 8:30 p.m. - OUR SCHOOLS HAVE KEPT US FREE - 30 minutes, in color. Shows how the history of the nation and the history of the schools are one. It gives the role of schools in the founding of our country, in tests of the battlefields, in populating a continent and in assimilating millions of immigrants into the nation, together with the challenges faced today as a leader of the free world. Yesterday’s faces and scenes are combined with today’s classrooms to show the schools as the thread that runs through our history.
