Arts, Crafts Exhibit

Well Attended

More than 250 visitors Signed the guest book at the Arts and Crafts Show which opened at the Rappahannock Library last week and closed Tuesday. Members of the Arts and Crafts Project were amply rewarded for their efforts by the enthusiasm and approval expressed by so many who attended. The show featured more than 150 items which were made by 53 different craftsmen of Rappahannock. Dozens of people were overheard to say they had not realized we had so many talent ed people in our county. Three of the purposes of the show were to give recognition to our artists and craftsmen, to help stimulate a renewal of interest in crafts, and to help craftsmen who make items for sale to find a market. The Arts and Crafts project would like to thank individually every person who helped but the list would be too long. Special thanks go to all exhibitors, to Mrs. B. M. Miller and .the Library staff, to the Hostesses, *to Mrs. Latham and the Rappahannock News staff who covered the show and took pictures, to the ladies of Bromfield Parish and to the teachers who distributed announcements, to Mr. Lyne, who gave us free radio announcements, to Mrs. Harriet Smith who helped set up the project and Miss Doris Daugherty who continued the work
