Harvey D. Williams
A funeral service was held Sunday, May 23, 1965 at 2 o’clock at Chester Gap Pentecostal Church for Harvey David Williams age 87, who died Friday morning. May 21 at his home in Chester Gap where he had been a life long resident. He was born in Rappahannock County April 26, 1878, son of Thomas Williams and Elizabeth Williams, and was a retired employee of the Remount Depot, Front Royal. Surviving are his wife Ethel Elkins Williams, a son, James E. Williams, two daughters Mrs. Edith Williams of Chester Gap and Mrs. Effie Settle of Castleton. By a previous marriage, he is survived by a son Winter Williams of Martinsburg, w. Va. and three daughters, Mrs. Helen Woodward of Front Royal, Mrs. Nannie Hurt of Browntownand Mrs. Dora LeHew of Waterlick; two stepsons, Reid Poe of Front Royal and Raymond Dulin of Chester Gap. Also by one sister Mrs. Nellie Kenny of Mar tins burg, 30 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren.
The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. James Pittman of Elkton with interment in the Williams family cemetery in Chester Gap. Pallbearers were Phillip Fincham, Harrison Mahoney, Jerry Jenkins, Luther Atkins, Archie Clatterbuck and Frank Kinsey.
