Reynolds Baptist Bible School Set
Vacation Bible School will be held at Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church, Sperryville, June 7th through 11th. Classes are from 9 a.m. through 11;45 a.m. and are for all ages. A nursery will be provided. Preparation Day for the school will be held Saturday, June 5 beginning at 1;30 p.m.
Chester Gap Mission Plans Hike, Picnic
The Chester Gap Baptist Mission will sponsor a hike on May 29, Saturday of this week. Those interested and participating will meet at the Church at 9 a. m. EST The hike will be in the area and will conclude on the Skyline Drive with a picnic.
World's First In
Rappahannock ...
For the first time in the historv of the world response to nitrogen and phosphate fertilizers by corn being grown on Eubanks loam is being demonstrated at the D. D. Miller & Son farm near Washington, according to W. H. Lyne, who with the cooperation of Va. Tech Extension Agronomist and Southern States Co-opera tive arranged the demonstrations. It was planned in detail for the sake of accuracy of teaching and to garner information for use to the industry of agriculture in the years ahead. Involved in thi6 planning, was first to locate a readily accessible field plowed for corn and of the major upland corn soil of the county. Next was getting a soil sample for chemical analysis as present chemi. cal and physical qualities would influence corn yields on check plots where no nitrogen nor phosphate was to be applied. Also a field production history (3 years) wa6 gathered All this was necessary as the ultimate goals were to determine and show responses to N and P 20 5 and determine optimun economic levels of applications of these
