Facts Are Sought

Farms from 97 counties in Virginia will be surveyed during the period May 24th through June 5th to collect current crop and livestock in formation, according to the Virginia Department of Agri culture. Similar enumeratlve surveys will be made by the U. S. Department of Agriculture on about 50,000 farms throughout the nation during the same period. The Crop Reporting Service, which is a joint func tion of VDA and USDA, will conduct the survey in Virginia USDA enumerators will obtain information about plant ed acres, livestock numbers, farm wages, and labor in 15,785 randomly-selected sample area selected will be interviewed. Information of this type has long been recognized as a necessity in the planning of farm production, marketing, haul: ing and processing of o u r food supplies. It will be complied and issued during the height of the farming season, June and July.

Roberts and daughter Melanie and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Scott, all of Arlington, Mr. and Mrs. Eulls Scott and children Pam and Ken and Marion Scott and son Connie of Culpeper. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. George Beebe and children were guests for a cookout at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Scott in Culpeper. Monday Mrs. Beebe and daughter Jenette were dinner guests of Mrs. R. E. Hitt.
