Ruritans Cease
Care of Dump
The opening piece of business at the regular monthly meeting of the Amissville Ruritan Club held last Wednesday evening was the question of continuing the maintenance of the county dump on the Viewtown Road. For some years the Ruritan Club has assumed the responsibility and care of the dump located in two different places during successive years. However, with the recent decision of the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors to place collection receptacles in various locations in the county, the club decided to relinquish their part in this civic endeavor.
Other business included plans for group attendance by the Club at the services of the Amissville Methodist Church on October 2 and at the recent revival services of the Forest Grove Baptist Church.
As a closing feature the club members were thrilled by the expolits of their guest speaker, Dr. John Newdorp of Arlington, who took them on a guided tour of a 217-mile trip down the Colorado River on a raft, with a delightful hour of pictures.
