Mrs. Vennie C. Dodson, of Manassas, Va., announces the engagement of her daughter, Barbara Jean, to Specialist Five, Richard C. Berry, United States Army, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Clinton Berry of Valdese, North Carolina.

Miss Dodson is a graduate of Rappahannock County High School, and is presently employed by the Prince William County School Board. Mr. Berry is a graduate of Francis Garron High School, Valdese N. C., and is now stationed at Vint Hill Farm Station, Warrenton Va.

A December wedding is planned.

G. Hackley and Mr. and Mrs. Ferrall Nicholas and their families. Larry Hackley returned to V.C.U. in Richmond on Sunday after spending the weekend with his parents Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Hackley.

Thirteen Boy Scouts of Troop t50 accompanied by Scoutmaster Charles F. Kindred hiked to the local Coon Club grounds and camped out overnight. Saturday the group worked on a conservation project.

Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Poe were in Warrenton Sunday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Allen Poe and son Allen, Jr. who has returned to his home after being hospitalized from a traffic crash.
