their Health Insurance (Medicare) card with them at all times in order to promptly and properly establish their coverage under Medicare. If a person covered by the Medicare program should require any medical care, being able to present a Health Insurance card would save time as well as help prevent passible errors in applying for Medicare benefits, Mrs. Daly said. Whenever a person protected by Medicare is admitted to a hospital one of the first things needed is his Health Insurance Claim Number. If the Health Insurance card is not available at the time of admission, the hospital must delay some of its processing until the Health Insurance Number is verified. Having the Health Insurance Card available will prevent these unnecessary delays and assure that all benefits due under Medicare are properly paid. This can best be assured by carrying the Health Insurance Card at all times.
Mrs. Daly added that, although reasonable care should be taken to avoid losing the Health Insurance Card, if it should be lost it can be replaced. Anyone who has lost his Health Insurance Card should contact the Winchester Social Security Office so that action may
