Dr. Puryemr
Dr. Edgar F. Puryear, jr. of Madison will be the speaker for Elappahannock County High School Commencement which is icheduled for Friday evening, June 5 in the school auditorium, rhe program begins at 8 p.m. Dr. Puryear is practicing law with the firm of Berry and Puryear, Madison and is teaching at the University of Virginia. He graduated with a B. S. degree in Economics in 1952 from the University of Maryland and an M. A. from the University of Denver in International Relations in 1956. In 1958 he received his M. A. in Political Science from Princeton and his Ph. D. in Political Science from that university in 1959. He o btainei an L.L.B. from the University ol Virginia Law School in 1967.
Dr. Puryear served in thi United States Air Force, 1952 through 1964 and was assigned tc the U. S. Air Force Academj from 1955-64. While there he served as tactical training officer, judo coach and boxing coach; was a flying instructor, taught political science and was assistant dean in 1963-64.
