was in bnenanaoan s room in the girls’ cabin. The other rooms were Southwest for girls and Tidewater and Piedmont, both boys. There were about 80 children at camp. The food was great. We were allowed seconds, too. There were three meals a day, all big cooked meals. Everyone was starving though by the time they were finally ready. While at camp I never once rode in a car or truck, which meant we walked. I didn’t mind since it was such beautiful country. Once we got up at 5:30 and went on a birdwalk. The time I went we saw about five birds.
1 really liked the canteen where they sold candy, drinks and all that good stuff. After rest period every day the canteen opened and it was really a stampede. I liked the classes and the recreation and all activities they had also.
On Sunday we had church in the morning and late evening. There were hikes that day too. On a hike, I accidentally jumped into a bee’s nest and got stung, but only three times which was very lucky. I wasn’t allergic to them so I didn’t get sick, but boy, did they swell and ache. I had to come back before the hike was over, which just about ruined that day.
On Friday night before we came home the next day they gave awards. I won three awards, one on a forestry test where we had to name 21 different kinds ol trees. Another was for a botany
