Funds For Title I
Education Project
The Federal Programs Office of the State Department of Education today announced approval of $4,903,310 for the 1970-71 school year under Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act for additional projects to aid educationally disadvantaged children in 27 Virginia localities.
The largest allocation approved was $2,235,078 for a project in Norfolk City. The project will provide special activities for the handicapped and art, cultural enrichment, reading, language arts, home economics, industrial arts, mathematics, music, physical education and recreation, natural science, and social science for 10,529 children in kindergarten through grade 12.
Other projects were approved for the following localities:
