Camping is a year-round activity, even during the winter. Three parks in the eastern part of Virginia offer heated restrooms and hot showers fojr cold-weather campers. Then there’s always hiking on marked nature trails, and the picnic grounds never close although water at faucets and in restrooms has to be shut off to prevent freezing of the pipes. Compared with last year, state park attendance for 1970 is already running more than 140,000 ahead. If the present trend continues, the division predicted, visitations should go well over the two and a quarte million mark by Christmas.
