George D. Fincham

A funeral service for George Davis Fincham of Etlan was held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Nethers Pentecostal Church, with burial in Etlan Cemetery. Mr. Fincham, 30, was killed Saturday, September 19, 1970, in a motorcycle accident at Haywood. He was a native of Rappahannock County, son of Sam and Ora Jenkins Fincham of Peola Mills. He was a foreman with the Fairfax Office of Virginia Department of Highways, and a U.S. Navy \ veteran.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, the former Miss Betty Lou Woodward; a daughter, Sharon Jeanette Fincham; a son, George Davis Fincham, jr.; two brothers, James Harrison Fincham of Sperryville and Carl Junior Fincham of Etlan; three sisters, Mrs. Alson Jenkins of Etlan, Mrs. Archie Dodson and Mrs. Charlie Jenkins, both of Sperryville.

Pallbearers were Richard Jenkins, Melvin Nicholson, E. A. Bennet, Kelso Jenkins, Dutch Zellner and Charlie W. Jenkins.

Geest Funeral Home was in charge.

Mr. and Mrs. Arne Olsen of ] Lynchburg spent the weekend ; with Mrs. Olsen’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Jones at Delamore.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles C. Burke returned to their home on Blue Ridge Avenue last Wednesday from a ten-day trip to Florida. They were accompanied by their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and 1 Mrs. William Hershey of Bristol, Pa. Thursday guests of the Burkes were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Vaughan of Stafford and this Sunday dinner guests were their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. C. Cletus Burke of Front Royal.

Miss Julia Banks Lea of Culpeper spent a few days this week with her grandmother, Mrs. T. C. Lea.
